 Splitsville Riverport Lanes decides not to sanction leagues or lanes for 2026/27

  Unfortunately for our youth bowlers (and all other league bowlers at the bowling center), Splitsville has made the decision not to sanction the lanes.  What does that mean?  In order for leagues to operate under the C.T.F. umbrella, the physical lanes, equipment, pinspotters and measurements must comply with strict CTF technical standards. 

  What does this mean for you? It means that you will not be able to bowl to establish an official average at Riverport because the lanes have not been certified. 

  What are your options?  You can choose to go to a centre where the lanes are certified.  In this case, in the Greater Vancouver area, the only lanes that certified are at The Zone in Coquitlam.  They have a Junior league there.  The other option, although nothing has been confirmed yet, would be to remain at Riverport Lanes and bowl in a “non-sanctioned” league if the centre chooses to have one and can find somebody to coordinate it.  In this case the league would probably run like it always has, except averages would not be considered official.  There would be no association awards of any kind and you would not be able to enter sanctioned tournaments without an official average.
